A redesign, not just a lamp swap
A retrofit is not a lamp swap, it's a redesign. The light levels of the old system are no longer where the standard or the work requires them to be.
The survey starts by measuring the current state: how much light there is where, how much energy is consumed, and what condition the luminaires are in. This shows where replacing the light source is enough, and where a new luminaire or a new layout is needed.
The payback calculation looks at more than the electricity bill: luminaire lifetime, lumen depreciation and maintenance costs all count. Sometimes the more expensive luminaire pays for itself sooner.
